· Summarize your philosophy of education and describe your personal learning
style.

ALANA assigns Prince George’s Community College Faculty and Staff Volunteers as Mentors to those students of color in need of additional support. The Mentor is one who advises, encourages, and advocates for another in a relationship of trust. The Mentor commits to work with the mentee for one academic year, or until the student achieves specified academic goals—whichever occurs first. For each mentee, you may estimate per semester; 4 contact hours plus another 1-2 hours for mentee/mentor related activities. The time required may decrease as your mentee becomes more self-assured and more familiar with the college. New mentors will be assigned no more than one student new to Prince George’s Community College and one returning student.
