CENTER FOR BUSINESS
AND INDUSTRY TRAINING
(CBIT)
The
Center for Business and Industry Training (CBIT) assists employers
by arranging education and training classes for groups of employees.
Training can be provided to address skill and education needs in
areas such as computer hardware and software training, supervision
and management development, and written and oral communications.

can be customized to address needs that are unique to your company
or organization. For your convenience we will arrange for training
to be delivered at your site or in one of the many laboratories
or classrooms available on the campus.
Here are just a few ways in which
CBIT can provide education and training for your employees:
- Contract Training – Classes can be arranged for groups
of ten or more employees.
- Custom-Designed Training – For unique areas of need,
training can be custom-designed to address the processes and
procedures of your organization.
- Lunch and Learn or College After Hours – Arrangements
can be made for college courses to be offered at your site.
You need 12 or more employees and an appropriate instructional
facilities. (Participants must meet all of the academic criteria
set forward by the college and the college’s accrediting association.)
- Reserved Seating in Pre-Scheduled Continuing Education
Classes – For three to nine employees we will reserve a
block of seats in continuing education classes that are scheduled
each semester.
- Consortium Training—For groups of three to seven employees
we will try to identify other organizations with a similar group
size, so that the groups would have moderate size learning group.
This would also allow the cost for training to be share by the
two groups.
- Bell Atlantic Interactive Distance Learning Laboratory
– Distance learning classes that originate from around the country
can be arranged and delivered in the college’s distance learning
classroom.
- Portfolio Development – Employees can earn college
credit for prior learning and experience by successfully completing
a document portfolio.
- Employee Development – For employee development in
the areas of career planning, job outplacement, preparation
for promotion, or adjusting to organizational change, consultant
services or group training can be provided.
