Articles and
Other Resources
Your topic statement determines the type of database, kind of information,
and the date of the sources that you will use. It is important to
clarify whether your topic will require research from journals,
magazines, newspapers, and books or just journals. To understand
the differences between magazines, journals, and newspapers, click

that you will find current information primarily in newspapers,
magazines, and journals from databases. For example, Research Library
and the ProQuest National Newspapers provide coverage of this topic
from its newspaper and periodical databases. Expanded Academic ASAP
Plus provides a range of scholarly journals and magazines. The Literature
Resource Center reproduces sources from electronic periodicals,
books, and reference sources, but its emphasis is primarily literary
criticism. These databases provide many selected full text articles.
