Expanded Academic Index ASAP Plus is a subscription database that
covers all academic disciplines, and provides coverage from thousands
of journals, magazine, and newswires with selected full text articles.
To access InfoTrac, start at Library
Media Center homepage and click on the Online Databases link or
go to the Online
Databases page from the Library's Web site.
On each page of Expanded Academic ASAP, you will find search options
for Subject guide, Relevance search, Keyword search, and Advanced
search.
Start with the subject approach if you are not sure of how to narrow
your topic
Search the Subject guide to browse a list of subjects, people, products,
and organizations that contains word(s) entered.
Select Subject guide to find articles on your topic. For example:
What is the relationship between United States intelligence operations
and counter terrorism? Enter terrorism in the search box and click
Search.
Narrow using subdivision by clicking on the link Narrow or
clicking link to See alsorelated subjects or View.
Scroll down and click on the arrow to go to the next page. Locate
the heading U.S. War on Terrorism, 2001- and click on the See
link to War on Terrorism, 2001-.
To narrow this subheading further, click on the link to Narrow
by subdivision or See also related subjects.
Go to the subdivision United States and click on the View
to retrieve the articles. To return to the previous page click on
the blue arrow.
Now that you have an understanding of what subjects to use, you
can do a Keyword search and an Advanced search.
