Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a borrowing privilege that is used to acquire books, journal articles, or audiovisuals that the library does not have.

Services and Policies

Interlibrary Loan can be used by enrolled students, faculty, adminstrators, and staff.

The cost to a patron is usually none. If the item is only available from an institution that charges, the patron will be notified. The individual is responsible for the charge.

To make a request:

• Ask the Reference Librarian for a form
• Complete the ILL Form
• Request no more than five items

Response and delivery of an item varies. It can take three days to three weeks. You will be called when the item arrives. It it held at the Circulation Desk.

Policies are:

• book loan periods are usually for three weeks with one renewal before the due date
• overdue fines, lost books, or damage costs are the patron's responsibililty
• fees are usually not charged for books or photocopies and the patron is reponsible for the cost if an institution charges (patron is notified before obtaining the material)
• textbooks are not borrowed
• books must be returned in person and handed to a Circulation staff person and cannot be put in the drop boxes
• Adherence to all copyright laws is the responsibility of individual patrons.
